Melba Jean Hoffman
BEECH ISLAND, SC - Mrs. Melba Jean Hoffman, 78, of Beech Island, SC, entered into rest on Friday, October 7th, 2016, in the comfort of her home.
Born in Raleigh, NC, she had been a resident of the CSRA since 1961.
She was the owner of the Fort Gordon Bus Station and was a dedicated member of Woodridge Baptist Church, North Augusta, SC. Mrs. Hoffman enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing pool and cards, going to the beach and on cruises.
Family members include her children, Angelia Freeman and her husband, Mike, Loganville, GA, James E. "Buddy" Hoffman and his wife, Sharon, Beech Island, SC, Robert A. "Robby" Hoffman and his wife, Sheila, Beech Island, SC and William David Hoffman and his wife, Sandi, Huntersville, NC; sister, Betty Durham and her husband, Jim, Raleigh, NC; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Monday, October 10th, 2016, from 6 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016, at 11 o'clock at Woodridge Baptist Church, Clearwater, SC, with Pastor Tom Kalliokoski.
Mrs. Hoffman will be placed in the church at 10 o'clock on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bath, SC. Deacons of Woodridge will serve as pallbearers.
It has been requested by the family that if so desired, memorials be made to Woodridge Baptist Church.
