LEESVILLE - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Lenna Mae McGuire Cox, age 101 will be held 2:30 pm Thursday January 4, 2018 in the chapel of Cole Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Reams officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Town Cemetery, Hwy 178, Batesburg. Mrs. Cox was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Mr. Carlton Cox and a daughter of the late John McGuire and the late Ruby Hunnicutt McGuire and was born in Pickens County and made Aiken County her home for 40 years before relocating to Lake Murray where she lived for the past 40 years. She entered into rest Friday December 29, 2017 at her daughters home in Mauldin, SC. Mrs. Cox. was the former owner and operator of Cox Antiques on Daughtery Road, Aiken was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. She was of the protestant faith. Survivors include two sons, John (Diane) Cox, Aiken, Carl Cox, North Augusta; one daughter, Gloria (Dean) Kirkland, Maulden; three grandchildren, Ron (Vickie) Cox, Columbia, Scott (Anna) Kirkland, Fountain Inn, Amy (Aaron) McConaghy, Fountain Inn; seven great grand children, Matthew and Jason Cox, Trent, Sean, and Danielle McConaghy, Chandler and Kason Jan Kirkland; one great great grandchild. Mrs. Cox was also predeceased by one granddaughter, Lisa Kirkland; two great grand children, Peyton Kirkland, Kaylee Kirkland Lawyer, and ten siblings. Serving as pallbearers will be Alon Cox, Trent McConaghy, Sean McConaghy, Aaron McConaghy, James Prince, and Chandler Kirkland.
