Kenneth Lokey Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Kenneth Wayne Lokey, Sr., 63, died suddenly, Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Hilton Head, SC.
A native of Aiken, Ken was a son of the late Charles Frederick Lokey, Jr. and Helen Kirby Lokey. He graduated from Aiken High School in 1971. After high school Ken worked as Harbor Master at Harbor Town on Hilton Head Island in the early 1970's. He was a home improvement contractor and lived in Sanford, NC for a number of years before moving back to Aiken last May. Ken was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sanford. He loved Hilton Head Island and being on the coastal waters.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth W. "Kikker" Lokey, Jr. (Colby), Smyrna, GA; his sister, Terry Dennis (Paul), Aiken; step-mother, Pat Lokey, Aiken; three step-brothers, Robert Cota (Liza), Gaithersburg, MD, Fred Cota (Judy), Aiken, Mark Cota (Kristina), Aiken and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda K. Dyches Lokey.
A private service will be held Friday afternoon.
The family will celebrate Ken's life Friday afternoon at the home of Terry and Paul Dennis, 3437 Banks Mill Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 from 4 until 6 o'clock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to ST. Thomas Episcopal Church, 312 North Steele St., Sanford, NC 27330.

I have known Ken since I was thirteen years old. We met at Harbour town marina in Hilton head. Ken was a loving, kindhearted person and full of laughter. We shared many great times and memories together . I will always miss him and cherish him forever . Much love and prayers to his family.

I KNEW AND WORKED WITH KEN FOR MANY YEARS IN SANFORD, NC AT THE DESIGN STUDIO. WE HAD MANY A GOOD TIME AND LOTS OF LAUGHS. HE WAS ALWAYS HAPPY AND HAD GREAT TALES OF HIS DAYS IN HILTON HEAD.HE WILL BE MISSED.

I worked with Kenny at Harbour Town in the mid seventies. He always had a smile and was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Prayers for his family. He will be missed.

I'm so shocked and sorry to read of Kenny's sudden death. He had called to check on my family when Columbia flooded in October. I know he will be missed by everyone who loved him.
