Kathleen Coker Obituary

Mrs. Kathleen "Kat" Coker
North Augusta - Kathleen "Kat" DeLaigle Coker, 83, of North Augusta, SC entered into rest on Friday, January 26, 2018. Born July 26, 1934 and raised in Burke County, Georgia, Kat was a country girl at heart who loved life's simple pleasures. She lived her Methodist faith through her kindness to all she met, her commitment to caring for others - especially those struggling or less fortunate, and her deep sense of loyalty. Kat was a loving wife and amazing mother. She served her community through years of volunteering at a local hospital, the American Legion, and a school for children with intellectual disabilities. Kat will always be remembered by her family and friends for her contagious laugh, big heart, giving spirit, and her countless acts of kindness that enriched the lives of so many.
Kat leaves behind her husband of 63 years, John Wesley Coker, and her two daughters, Sharon L. Coker, and Rhonda Y. Coker-Forrest (Cynthia); three sisters, Jackie Chance, Honey Long, and Mary Anne Odom, a multitude of special nieces and nephews, and her sweet granddog, Brickle.
Kat is predeceased by her parents, Thus "Son" and Lucille Sharpe DeLaigle; three sisters, Ruby Lamar, Thelma Moore, and Louise Prickett; and three brothers, Everett DeLaigle, Nick DeLaigle, and Sonny Boy DeLaigle.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11:30 AM in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829. The family will greet friends following the service until 1 PM. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of choice.
