John Ward Obituary

John Lee Ward, Jr.
HEPHZIBAH, GA - Mr. John Lee Ward, Jr., husband of Mrs. Norma Ward, entered into rest suddenly on Christmas morning, two days before his 75th birthday and one day after his and Norma's fifty-first anniversary.
Born in Wilkinson County, GA and an area resident since 1965, he was a son of the late John Lee, Sr. and Mattie Reetha Smallwood Ward. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a former Auto Mechanic. John was a very active member of South Haven Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and "muddin" and if the TV was on, you can rest assured he would be watching a Western.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Sherry Hyman and her husband, Marc, Beech Island, SC, Paul Ward, Tampa, FL and John Lee "Johnny" Ward, III, Hephzibah, GA; siblings, Mary Kilgore, Keysville, GA and Wayne Ward, Kite, GA; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six grandpups.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016 at 2 o'clock at South Haven Baptist Church, Augusta, GA, with Pastors Michael Rochester and Herb Sons officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. Pallbearers will be Tommy Adair, Timothy Blackmon, Brandon Miller, John Kilgore, Jimmy Dixon and Christopher Couvillon. John will be placed in the church at 1 o'clock on Saturday.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the Missions Fund at South Haven Baptist Church.
The family will greet friends on Friday, January 1st, 2016, from 6 until 8 o'clock at
