John Schmidt Obituary
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Mr. John Arthur Schmidt, 68, of Longstreet Crossing, husband of Pamela Schmidt, his golf course sweetheart of 43 years of marriage and birdies, unexpectedly entered into rest on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at University Hospital.
A visitation was held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Rowland Funeral Home. Funeral and interment service will be held in Delavan, WI.
Mr. Schmidt was born in Delavan, WI on November 19th, 1946. He was a 1968 graduate of Spencerian Business College with a degree in business. He served honorably in the Army from 1969-1971, during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Schmidt retired from Textron in 2011 after 32 years of service. He was active in the community, serving as secretary for the Sertoma Club. He enjoyed their fellowship and organizing events that benefited various charities. He was also a member of the River Golf Club where he played in the Cybart golf group. There he was responsible for releasing many golf balls back into their natural habitat.
Additional survivors include his son Joseph (Dana), his daughter Jennifer Filbert (John), and grandchildren Nicholas, John, Olivia and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Elizabeth Schmidt.
Memorials may be made to North Augusta Sertoma Club for speech and hearing, PO Box 6184, North Augusta, SC 29861.

I did not know John had passed until I saw his name flash across the screen at the memorial service of the regional convention this weekend. It was truly a shock to me. I valued his opinions and could always depend on him for answers to my questions. I will miss him.
