WARRENVILLE, SC - Joann Cochran Arthur, age 74, of Warrenville, S.C., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth E. (Shawna) Crews of North Augusta, S.C.; daughters, Teresa Michell Patrick of Warrenville, S.C,, Pamela (Robert) D. Johnson of Jackson, S.C. and Sheila (Jim) Rutland of Warrenville, S.C.; stepchildren, Kathy (Howard) Waites of Athens, Ga., Andy Pridgen, Angie (Kenneth) Black both of North Augusta, S.C. and Jimmy Crews of Greenville, Ga.; a sister, Doris Cochran of Beech Island, ,S.C.; 21 grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was born in Cedar Town, Ga. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She retired from Graniteville Co. She was a member of Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was an avid Georgia Fan. The family stated that she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed traveling with her sister and brother-in-law as a teenager singing Gospel Music on the radio. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. She was a priceless lady who loved everybody.
She has finished life's journey and is now at peace with the one she served while on earth, the Lord, Jesus Christ. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Thursday evening, January 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A service, celebrating her life and home going, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bob Still officiating. The interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Bath, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Randall Cochran, Allan Cochran, Chris Rockwell, Kenneth Black, Danny Rutland and Andy Pridgen.
The family wishes to extend a "Heartfelt Thank You" to nurses Joy Lynn, Clint, Liz , Monica and all her Hospice caregivers for the wonderful care that they gave their loved one during her illness.
