Jerrold Byars Obituary
WINDSOR, SC - A graveside service for Mr. Jerrold Leonard Byars, Sr. age 77 will be held 3:00 pm Sunday December 11, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Windsor cemetery with Rev. Wesley Kinard officiating. Mr. Byars entered into rest at his home Wednesday December 7, 2016.
He was the husband of 51 years to Mrs. Gleama Keller Byars and a son of the late Mr. Harris C. Byars and the late Mrs. Margaret Minick Byars. Mr. Byars was a native of Savannah, GA and lived most of his life in Aiken County before moving up to Alexandria, VA for 30 years before returning to Windsor in 1995. Mr. Byars had retired after 30 years of service with Texaco as a truck driver. For his pastime, Mr. Byars enjoyed gardening, animals, and fishing.
Additional survivors include three sons, Robert Harris Byars, Windsor, Jerrold Leonard Byars, Jr. Windsor, Hank Byars, Trenton; one daughter, Ginny Byars Williams, Windsor; one brother, Ronald A. Byars, Sr., Chicago, IL; one sister, Linda Byars Dyches, Windsor; eight grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Harris Byars, Jerrold Leonard Byars, Jr., Hank Byars, Greg Byars, Bryan Wright, Bill Cole and Shane Cole.
A visitation with the family will take place at the church one hour prior to the service 2:00 pm Sunday December 11, 2016. COLE FUNERAL HOME (118 BY PASS ), AIKEN SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
