James Palmer Obituary

Mr. James Edward Palmer, affectionately known to many as "Man," entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born on December 23rd, 1956, James was the son of the late Margie and Judge E. "Bozy" Palmer, Jr.
In addition to his parents, James is also preceded in death by his sister Sheila Sanders.
Survivors include: his daughter, Jennifer Palmer Plemmons (Michael E.) and granddaughter Reagan Whitaker Plemmons, who James adored being a PaPa to. His siblings: Miriam Toole and Rita Palmer (David); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
James made his career in fence installation and was known for his generosity. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed help. James had a love for the outdoors and animals. He was an avid fisherman, always ready to cast a line at any opportunity. In his earlier years, he also enjoyed hunting.
His simple demeanor and lifestyle earned him the nickname "Man," which was first given to him by his father and quickly caught on. James was a Christian and even through the many struggles and hardships he faced in life, his faith always remained.
The family would like to express gratitude and thankfulness to the staff of Trinity Hospice of Aiken, Dr. Lim and the Palliative Care Team from United Healthcare, and the Doctors and Care Staff of 6 North at Wellstar Augusta.
The family invites you to join them for a Graveside Celebration of Life beginning at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, South Carolina. Pastor Dexter Lambert will officiate.
