Gloria Overstreet Obituary

Mrs. Gloria Jean Overstreet, 82, of Clearwater, SC, wife of 56 years to Terry Overstreet, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the comfort of her home under the kind and compassionate care of Agape Hospice.

Born in Richmond County, GA, she is the daughter of the late Milledge Judson Johnson and the late Doris Bedenbaugh Maietta. Following the death of her father, her mother married the late John Maietta whom Gloria came to love as her own father.

Gloria grew up in Morristown, NJ and relocated to the CSRA in 1968. Shortly thereafter, Gloria married Terry Overstreet.

She retired from the Savannah River Site where she was a Clerk. Gloria was a dedicated member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She was formerly involved with the Red Hat Society and was a former Scout Leader.

Gloria enjoyed the simple things in life such as reading, crocheting and knitting. However, nothing brought her more enjoyment than time spent with her family and her family pets.

Gloria will be dearly missed and her memory will remain eternal in the hearts of her husband and children, Tracey (the late Andy Legate) Overstreet and Eric (Wendy) Overstreet, her brother, John (Theresa) Maietta, Jr., her grandson, Joshua (Sam)Burge, her great-granddaughter, Sigrid Burge, her church family, friends and of course her grand pups, Junior and Jemini.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. Pastor Charlie Crews will officiate. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Graniteville, SC.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 5 until 7 o'clock at the funeral home.
