Glenda M. Wilson
GLOVERVILLE, SC - Mrs. Glenda M. Wilson, 75, entered into rest on Friday, October 23, 2015, in the comfort of her home, with her beloved husband and soulmate of fifty-two years, Mr. W.E. "Billy" Wilson, at her side.
Born in and a resident of Chattanooga, TN, until 1963, she was a daughter of the late William L. Miller and the late Myrtle Miller Ashman.
She attended Warrenville Church of God, was the retired co-owner of Wilson's Upholstery, Gloverville, SC and attended the University of Tennessee and was an avid VOLS fan.
Mrs. Wilson was best known for being very active in her community. She was a former Commissioner of the VPSA, co-chairman of the Midland Valley High School Stadium Committee, Pole Manager for many years, co-organized Valley Citizens for Youth Softball League, member of the Aiken County Republican Party, Chattanooga Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a dedicated member of the Aiken Civil Air Patrol.
She was a dedicated wife and mother. There were not many events of her children's that she missed. She supported other kids in the community as well.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her children, Billy G. Wilson and his wife, Lisa and Denise Jackson and her husband, Brent, all of North Augusta, SC; siblings, Jerry Dismukes and his wife, Sara, Birmingham, AL and the late Patricia Godsey Gailey, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored and made sure that everyone knew it, Katie and Tori Jackson, Erik and Brandon Harley and Emelia Harley, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, Miss Glenda will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 4:30 at Warrenville Church of God, Warrenville, SC, with Pastors Robert Skelton and Bob Boone officiating.
To show appreciation for the care provided to Mrs. Wilson and the family, it has been requested that memorials in her memory be made to Homestead Hospice. (www.homesteadhospice.net/northaugusta).
Friends are welcome to call at the family residence.
