Charles Arnold Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Paul Arnold, 73, passed away on August 25, 2014 at his home in Anchorage. Chuck was born on June 21, 1941 to Harry and Nellie Arnold in St. Joseph, Missouri. He moved to Anchorage in 1947. He was employed with Stephan and Sons for a number of years before starting with Municipality of Anchorage Transit in 1986; he retired from the Municipality in 2006. Chuck had a love of watercrafts, which led to the opening of his business Chuck's Watercraft Repair in the early 90's. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and jet skiing with family and friends at Big Lake during the summer months in the 80's and 90's. After his kids grew up, Chuck continued to camp and fish at various locations in Alaska including Riverside Campground in Houston. A dedicated member of Amvets Post 49, he devoted many hours and was there every morning watching his favorite TV show, The Price is Right. For the past 4 years, he spent the summers in Alaska and the winters in Tucson, Arizona with his companion, Dolly. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harry and Nellie Arnold, and his brother Dennis Arnold. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Arnold of Anchorage, daughters, Jody Arnold of Everett WA, Jill Bristow and husband Trevor of Anchorage, Jamie Magula and husband Mike of Lake Stevens WA, Melissa Arnold of Ashville OH, Sonya Arnold of Fairbanks AK, Beth Trafford of Bellevue WA and grandkids Alexandria, Bella, Amber, Ava, John Paul, Jonathan, Sean and niece and nephews Lisa, Doug and Jeff, companion Dolly Watsjold, and many extended family members. My condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Arnold. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but what has helped many is the wonderful hope for the future found in God's word atIsaiah 25:8. I sincerely hope that it can bring you the comfort you need at this time.
