Calvin Hazel Obituary
GREENVILLE, SC - Mr. Calvin Hazel, Jr., of Greenville, SC, entered into rest March 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at His Vineyard, 656 Arlington Road, Greer, SC. Interment will be in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC. Mr. Hazel, a native of Aiken County, was a 1976 graduate of Aiken High School. In 1981, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from USC-Columbia and a Master of Arts in Public Administration in 1992 from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville, SC. At an early age, he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Beech Island. He was a member of Kingdom Assembly Outreach Center. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca M. Hazel, Greenville, SC; a son, Calvin Hazel, III, Raleigh, NC, a daughter, Gracie Hortense Hazel, Greenville, SC; his mother Emily Ingram Hazel, Beech Island, SC; two brothers, Randall (Zanthia) Hazel, Port Saint Lucie, FL; Raymond Willie Hazel, Beech Island, SC; a sister, Terri (Thomas) Hazel-Griffin, Aiken, SC; a grandchild, Anthony Jamison Hazel; a host of other relatives and friends. Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary, Inc., Greenville, SC is in charge of the arrangements.

Our hearts were deeply sadden and shocked to hear of the passing of Brother Calvin Hazel. He received Christ as a member of Mt. Zion MBC where his mother is our "Mother of the church" and both his brother are members.One serve as a deacon (Deacon Raymond Hazel).
