Barbara Annette Phillips
AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Barbara Annette Phillips, 77, wife of Mr. Richard H. Phillips, of Aiken, SC, died September 15, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Born January 4, 1938 in Aiken County, SC, she was the only child born to Irma Gray.
She has been a life long South Carolina resident. She married her love, Richard Phillips in December of 1958. They lived in a number of surrounding areas, including Allendale and Bamberg, as he was a football coach for the high schools.
She worked as a secretary for the Aiken County School District for many years and was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Aiken.
Her family remembers her as very creative and artistic. Being an only child, not only was her immediate family very important to her, but so was her extended family. She loved spending time with her daughters and her grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother.
She will be remembered by her daughters, Page Hall (Clif) of Aiken, Madge Fleming (Tracy) of Bamberg and Stacy Phillips of Augusta, GA; and her grandchildren, Lindsey McCully (Dustin), Lauren Reames (Brooks), Madison Hall and Perry Fleming.
Private Graveside services will be held at Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken with Dexter Lambert officiating.
