Edwina King Obituary

Edwina "Eddie" Rose King, 70, passed away on July 28 after a long fight against pancreatic cancer. Eddie loved adventures in the wilderness and the ocean. She had a love for wildlife, especially the smaller creatures. Each year, she couldn't wait for spring to come so she could see the newest "crop" of squirrel babies. Eddie's other passion was family. She was a fierce fighter for her husband, children and grandchildren. Eddie graduated from Lathrop High School class of 1973. Eddie had a very strong faith in God and loved to read her Bible.

Eddie is survived by her husband, Dan King, of Two Rivers; brother, Bill Stevens (Margaret), of rural Tok; sons, Ben Fenwick of North Pole, Matt Fenwick (Laura) of Edgewood, Washington, Dustin Huffman (Natasha) of Bagdad Arizona; stepdaughter, Krystal Hinrichs (Jordan) of Elk Point, South Dakota; and grandchildren, Gavin, Annmarie, Dawson, Alex, Carson, Addison, Serenity, Skyla and Savannah.

Eddie was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Marion Stevens, and brother, Michael.

Eddie asked that there be no funeral for her. She would rather friends and family remember her as she was - vibrant with a strong will to live. Two memorials will be set up, one for medical and burial expenses and the other for the Two Rivers Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department is near and dear to our hearts. Eddie twice had to wait 45 minutes for an ambulance to arrive when she was in severe pain. It was another 45 minutes back to the hospital.
