Sherrill Marcel Wells, 89, Akron, Indiana, peacefully passed away Jan. 10, 2022.
She was born August 6, 1932 in Odon, to Ray and Hazel (Marshall) Tarvin. Sherrill moved from Linton, five years ago, and made Akron her home.
In 1950, she graduated from Odon High School as class salutatorian.
Sherrill married Darrell Gene Clodfelder on Dec. 30, 1951 in Odon,. After his passing, she was married to Billy G. Wells in 1992 until he passed away in 2016.
She worked several places as a secretary, and retired from Crane Naval Service Warfare Center.
Sherrill was a member of the Akron Church of God, First Christian Church of Lyons, and previously, Odon Christian Church of Odon. She spent her life in service to others and volunteered many places. She loved her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, sewing and flower gardening.
Surviving Sherrill are three children: Debra (Brian) Potter of Akron, David Clodfelder of Punta Gorda, Fla., Peggy (Don) Roberts of Sarasota, Fla. Sherrill and Darrell also cherished and cared for an "adopted" daughter, Carole (Phil) Richardson of Paragon, and Carole's children, Jama and Brian. She has five grandchildren, Laurel (Scott) Whetstone, Heather (Zack) Kelley, Ashley Potter, Dallas Roberts, Brian (Therese) Roberts. She has 13 great-grandchildren
Preceding Sherrill in death were her parents, husbands, son Dan Clodfelder (2009), two brothers, Lee and Carl Tarvin and two sisters, Lucy Eisenmann and Grace Baird.
Her funeral is Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, with visitation from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and the service starting at 1 p.m. at the Akron Church of God, officiated by Pastor Kathy Nelson. Burial is at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at Walmut Hill Cemetery in Odona. The public is invited to the visitation, service and burial. The funeral will also be livestreamed on the Akron Church of God's Facebook page.
