Raymond Bellerose Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dracut Funeral Home on Apr. 20, 2026.
Raymond Bellerose, Jr. "Sunshine" age 66, a lifelong resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on April 5, 2026. Born on July 30, 1959, Raymond truly lived up to his nickname, bringing warmth, laughter, and a bright spirit to everyone he met.

He was a graduate of the Greater Lowell Vocational school, where he developed his lifelong interest in carpentry and auto mechanics.

A hardworking man with a strong work ethic, Raymond spent many years in the demolition industry with Nova Contractors. He was well-respected by his colleagues for his strength, reliability, and the positive energy he brought to every job site.

While he took great pride in his work, Raymond's true heart was with his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Charlene Coutu; together for 40 years and married for 28, their bond was the foundation of their family. He found deep peace and fulfillment in simple traditions, especially spending his weekends at his father's side working in the garden, nurturing the land just as he nurtured his loved ones.

Raymond was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who lived for his family. His greatest joy was found in the moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the absolute center of his world. Whether sharing a story or a quiet afternoon in the garden, "Sunshine" made sure his family always felt his immense love and protection.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara A. Bellerose; his wife, Charlene Coutu; his daughter, Jennifer Quinlin; his sons, Bill Bellerose (Sarah Jensen), Austin Bellerose, and Brandon Bellerose. He was the cherished grandfather of Emilio, Marrianna, Natalie, Noah, Lucian, and Aleister Bellerose. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren who will forever carry his legacy of kindness and joy.

Ray is survived by four sisters: Elaine and her husband, Dan Dalton of Chelmsford; Ann Marie and her husband, Mike Maher of Rindge, NH; Karen and her husband, Jack Dolan of Lowell and Michelle and her husband, Mark MacDonald of Dracut.

Ray was predeceased by his beloved father and best friend, Raymond F. Bellerose.

His Funeral Services will be private.
