Mary Beth Voss-Gibbs, 64, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on June 19, 1960, in Washington, Missouri, to William and Dorothy (Ahlert) Voss, Mary had a spirit of love, strength, and kindness whose presence could brighten any room.
Mary's life was shaped by her deep love for her family, her unwavering resilience, and her passion for the beauty of nature. As a single mother, she faced life's challenges head-on with grit and determination, working tirelessly to provide for her children: Jennifer, Tori, and JD. No matter how difficult things became, her love for them never wavered-her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she embraced them with a heart that knew no limits.
A true nurturer, Mary found solace in the earth, transforming her surroundings into beautiful gardens filled with hostas, roses, and lilies. Her connection to the land extended beyond her own backyard-her bond with the Voss farm was deep, where she found happiness in horseback riding, exploring the fields, and spending treasured moments with her loved ones.
She passed down her passion for the outdoors to her grandchildren, leading them on adventures to the creek to search for arrowheads, a reflection of her fascination with Native American history. No matter how little she had, she always found a way to give-to family, to friends, and even to strangers who needed kindness.
Mary's laughter was contagious, her spirit unbreakable, and her generosity boundless. Though she has left this world, her legacy of love will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Mary is survived by her spouse. Her devoted children, JD Tippett and wife Rachel of Nixa, MO; Jennifer Carbone and husband, Tony of Saint Paul, MN; and Tori O'Neal of Sullivan, MO; and her beloved grandchildren: Luca Carbone, Bella Bridgett, Brooklyn Pinnell, Quinn Tippett, and Vincent Tippett. She is also survived by her siblings, Kevin Voss; Debbie Culbertson and husband, Rick; and JoAnn Voss and husband, Steve, along with numerous relatives and cherished friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Dorothy Voss, and her brother, Michael Voss.
A Memorial Service to honor Mary's life will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
Visitation will take place from 4-6 PM before the service.
Mary's love and kindness shaped the world around her, leaving it more beautiful than she found it. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
