Marvin Walter Struecker, the son of Walter and Ida (Lauck) Struecker, was born on February 21, 1934, on the family farm near West Bend, Iowa. He attended St Paul's Lutheran School in Whittemore. Following school, Marvin farmed and became a member of the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. He continued to farm near West Bend with his father, and eventually on his own. On September 17, 1961, Marvin was united in marriage to Janice Will in Fairmont, Minnesota. Together they had 4 children. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Whittemore. He enjoyed ballroom and square dancing with his wife in their early married years, as well as playing cards with friends in a card club. God was a big part of Marvin's life, and he was very active within his Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and served as adjutant for many years. Later, his biggest joy came from the grandchildren he was blessed with.

Left to cherish Marvin's memory are his wife of 63 years, Janice of West Bend; children, Rick Struecker of Lake City, IA, Julie (Kelly) Welsh of Jessup, IA, Rev. Steven (Kathy) Struecker of West Bend, Sherri (Bill) Frieden of West Bend, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. His sisters Arlene Heldt of Mallard and Lola (Hans) Clausen of Pocahontas.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Arnold Heldt and a nephew Jeff Clausen.
