Lesa Dockery Freeman, 62, of Elkin, NC entered into new life on, March 04, 2025. She will be greatly missed. She was born February 09, 1963 to the late Ernest Dockery and June Maxine Hege in Surry County, NC.
Lesa was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She worked in health care for many years. She was a registered nurse and earned her degree from Surry Community College, she was a graduate of Surry Central High School, Dobson, NC. Lesa loved to collect rocks and had a love for flowers. She loved her grandbabies and enjoyed spending time with them. She carried a contagious laugh and enjoyed being with friends. She was always the life of the party.
Lesa started her health care career as a CNA and was the Resident Care Coordinator for Pinebrook Assisted Living, Yadkinville for many years. After earning her degree in nursing, she became the Administrator at Pinebrook. She then went to work for Strategic Interventions. She was a leading force in the Mental Health Community. She loved her work and loved the people she was able to help.
Services will be private.
Those left to cherish her memories; daughters; Victoria Long, Jade Freeman and her father Randy; sister; Deborah Dockery Boles; her grandchildren; Kaili Phillips, Taelyn Long, Khymani Long, Scarlet Miller, and Rhiannon Williams; aunt; Maxine Stanley and life-long friend; Sonia Anderson.
The family wishes to thank the nursing team at Hugh Chatham, Elkin, NC and the staff at Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC for their love and care shown to Lesa in her final hours. Your kindness will always remain in our hearts.
