On September 17th, 2025, God gained another angel, Larry Edward Kirby Sr., at the age of 74. He passed away in his Lindale home surrounded by those who love him dearly! Larry was born and raised in Calhoun, Georgia, by his parents, Edgar Erskin Kirby and Thelma Mae Louise Greeson Kirby. He was the youngest of six children.
Larry was a man of God! He was a preacher for many years and found joy in spreading the word of God. He also enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, gardening, spoiling the grandchildren and making them jealous with the great-grandchildren, taking rides through the countryside with his wife, and helping others when in need. A faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and WWE. He was a very outspoken, kind, respected, and loving country man. He spoke words of wisdom, and yes "dummy" is one of them. There's no amount of words to describe what an inspirational person he was, absolutely amazing inside and out. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Jack Partion; his granddaughter, Cameron Ellis; and many others.
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy as well as a family. His beloved wife of thirty-five years, Sandra Jean Kirby; his three sons, Tony Kirby, Larry Kirby Jr., and Larry Kirby "Bill"; his two daughters, Maranda Carter and Nancy Jones; his nineteen grandchildren; and thirty-four great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, sisters, and many more also survive.
It's with a heavy heart that we ask for prayers in healing for his family as they go through losing someone very special. For Larry has been born again into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Long officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Steven Mashburn, Jonathan Roberson, Rickie Dotts, Doug Banks, Wayne Wooten, and Chris Steely.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Larry Edward Kirby Sr.
