Gary Ray Williams, age 78 of Uniontown, KY passed away peacefully at home Saturday. He was born September 18, 1946 in Princeton, IN to Lester and Cora Williams. He attended and graduated at Mt. Olympus High School in Hazelton, IN, where he played baseball, track, and basketball. He was an all-around athlete praised by his high school coach for being MVP for all sports. He served in the US Army in 1966 to 1972. He was a proud veteran and loved his country. He was also a proud member of the American Legion, Moose Club, AM Vets, UMWA, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Gary was a loyal patron of the VFW, where he enjoyed his Bud Light and spending time with friends. He was a retired UMWA coal miner who worked in five different states. He was an avid UK fan. Gary enjoyed playing the lottery, boating, fishing, deer hunting, horseshoes, pool, and bird watching.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Ann Williams; parents Lester and Cora Williams; beloved wife of 50 years, Janice Williams; and younger brother Leslie Williams.

Daughters Tina (Jeff) Harn of Kuttawa, KY
Carrie Williams and Fiancè James of Uniontown, KY
Becky (Dwight) Lucas of Kuttawa, KY
Sister Connie Cousert of Francisco, IN
Grandchildren Morgan Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell, Hailey Harn, Lexis (Byron) Henry
Haley (Blade) Stevens, Kennedy Lucas, Kourtney Lucas, Korben Lucas
Great Grandchildren Millie Stevens and Declan Henry
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 27th at Uniontown City Cemetery in Uniontown, KY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Uniontown VFW Post 5488, P.O. Box 365, Uniontown, KY 42461.
