Gary Beckman Obituary

Gary Allen Beckman, age 57, of Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. Born at Nuremberg Army Hospital, Germany on July 26, 1968 to parents Dennis and Barbara Beckman, he was a devoted husband, father, and son.

Gary graduated from Bentonville High School, Bentonville, AR. He was the center on the basketball team and sang in the choir.

Gary met his beloved wife, Nadine (Moriarty) Beckman at Trinity International University, where he played basketball. They married in 1992 and together they built a life filled with love and laughter for 33 years. He was a proud father to his son, Sean Beckman, whom he loved and treasured more than words can express.

He was known for his dedication to his work as a Flagging Foreman at Union Pacific Railroad for 23 years. Prior to that, Gary had worked installing garage and screen doors, doing asbestos abatement, and packing and shipping.

Outside of work, Gary was an avid woodworker, making pens, cutting boards, and many other things. In the last few years, he started golfing again with his son Sean, whom he loved spending time with. He also enjoyed spending his time watching Sean play sports from Kindergarten through College, whether it

was basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, or cross country. Gary loved supporting all of Sean's teams.

Gary was known for his kindness, unwavering love of family and friends, and dedication to all who knew him. He was always there to offer a helping hand or a warm smile. He is survived by his wife, Nadine Beckman; son, Sean Beckman; parents Dennis and Barbara Beckman; and brother Dave Beckman (Kristen Beckman).

A Memorial Visitation will be held on March 29th from 1 pm to 6 pm with a Memorial Service at 5 pm at Ahlgrim & Sons, 330 West Golf Road, Schaumburg, IL.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the family.
