Augusta, GA – Funeral Services for LtCol Frank William Martino, USMC, Retired, 92, who entered into rest April 13, 2026, will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the Posey Funeral Chapel, with Fr. David Arnoldt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5 until 7. Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at a later date in Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church Cemetery, Millersville, MD where he will rest next to his wife.

LtCol Martino was born December 30, 1933, in Warren, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Ann Martino. LtCol Martino was commissioned as a 2ndLt through the Navy's Holloway program upon graduation from Miami University in Ohio in June 1955. After completion of Basic School and Communication Officers School, he then reported to Twenty-nine Palms, CA for duty as Communications Officer of the 1st 75mm Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion., and later as a Communications Electronics Officer for Force Troops, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific. He retired as a Signals Intelligence/Electronic Warfare Officer with 26 years of service to his country in the United States Marine Corps. LtCol Martino's decorations include the Bronze Star Medal for valor and the Meritorious Service Medal. Upon retirement, LtCol Martino was active and involved in Habitat for Humanity and mission trips in Mexico that built orphanages for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, electronics, and was a Ham radio operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Walouke Martino, and older brother, Joseph P. Martino.

Survivors include his daughters, Patty Martino-Pearson (Don) and Carol Jones (Tim); sons, Jim Martino (Caren) and Tom Martino (Susan); nine grandchildren, Amy Martino, Garrett Martino, Katie Pearson, Shiloh Pearson, Joseph Pearson, Andrew Martino (Annie), Elizabeth Martino (Martin), Sarah Gonder-Jones (Holli) and Laura Donnelly (Patrick); four great-grandchildren, Sullivan Gonder-Jones, Leo Thomas Martino, Jack Alexander Donnelly and James Constantine Donnelly; and his younger brother, James Martino (Karen).

Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, www.habitat.org or the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, www.marineheritage.org in lieu of flowers.

I met Mr. Martino a few years ago through St. Mary On The Hill Homebound Ministry. I always enjoyed chatting with him. My condolences to the family.
