Betty met and married David Erickson and to that union they were blessed with one daughter, Karen. Later she married Stanley Beck. While they had no children together, Betty raised and loved his children, Sarah and Jacob, as her own. Later, Betty met her significant other, Bill Kast. She moved to Bemidji, MN and remained there until his death in 2020. She enjoyed living with her sister, Arlene, in Becker, MN until her health resulted in her final move to Milaca Elim.
Betty was known for her determined and ambitious personality. If she set her mind to something, it would happen. This made her a perfect fit for her job as a legal secretary. She loved her work and was employed by a variety of law firms during her working years. She is also remembered for her good sense of humor. She loved to joke and laugh, especially with her sisters. She enjoyed making crocheted gifts, including afghans, booties, scarves, and hats. She liked to read, watch movies, visit with family, go to casinos, eat out, play cards, and go shopping, sometimes too much shopping. One of her favorite activities was playing games on her phone. She enjoyed this so much that she had one phone for playing games and another for talking on while she played.
