Doris Falding Bishop Gadola died on January 18, 2026, in Birmingham, Michigan. Falding was born on July 31, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, to Russell Spencer Bishop, Jr. and Doris Phillips. Falding's family ties to Flint's history are significant. Her great grandfather, Arthur Giles Bishop, was instrumental in bring the Buick assembly plant back to Flint in 1905. He also donated 220 acres of farmland to the City of Flint in 1928 for aeronautical purposes which is now the home of Bishop International Airport.

Falding was known for her intellect and grace, and she lived a full and interesting life. In addition to her love of Arabian horses, which she trained and showed throughout most of her youth and young adult years, she loved art, to travel, read and spend time with her family and friends. Her experiences throughout her world travel were vast and something she cherished. Falding was for many years the quintessential football tailgate host at Michigan State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961. Other notable memories for Falding included writing to Ann Landers and getting a personalized, signed response and attending the inauguration of former President Ronald Reagan. She is survived by her sons, James Christian McLogan, Jr. (Liz), Austin Bishop McLogan; her stepdaughters, Laura McLogan Karle (Jerry) and Lisa McLogan; her granddaughters, Katherine McLogan Yu (Richie), Emily McLogan, Colby Zurbay (Ryan), Claudia Luckenbach-Boman, Margaret McLogan, Kayti Karle and Madeline Karle; her brother, Russell Spencer Bishop, III and her sister, Mary Linn Benning.
