Carl A. Anderberg, 78, of
Harrisville, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March, 7, 2026, at Advinia Care Providence.
Carl was a lifelong resident of
Harrisville, Rhode Island. For the past several years, he made his home at Capitol Ridge at Providence, a Benchmark Senior Living community, where he formed many meaningful friendships with fellow residents and staff, and enjoyed participating in activities and community gatherings.
Born on December 9, 1947, in
Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Walter Anderberg, Sr., and Agnes (Comtois) Anderberg.
Carl was educated in the Harrisville public school system and graduated from Callahan High School. He later earned his degree from Bryant College, now known as Bryant University.
Carl began his professional career as a document review specialist at the Rhode Island office of the international accounting and business advisory firm Laventhol & Horwath (L&H). In 1990, the firm was taken over by new partners and became Lefkowitz, Garfinkel, Champi & DeRienzo, P.C. (LGC&D). Carl remained dedicated to his work there for more than 40 years before retiring in 2017.
Carl was a kind and caring man whose presence brought a smile and a sense of peace to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. A man of deep faith, he prayed daily and believed strongly in the power of prayer. He found great comfort in attending Mass, praying the rosary, and watching his favorite Catholic channel, Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), where he faithfully followed his daily religious programs.
He enjoyed many hobbies, including painting, playing bingo, participating in arts and crafts, cooking, and baking. However, nothing brought him greater joy than sitting down to enjoy a nice three-course meal. Carl loved all holidays, but Christmas held a special place in his heart. Each year, he delighted in setting up his Nativity scene, decorating his Christmas tree, and preparing his home for the season. He especially looked forward to his annual visit to the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, Massachusetts, where he found peace while admiring the beautiful Christmas lights.
Carl is survived by his sister-in-law Gladys A. (Gaskill) Anderberg of Milford, Massachusetts; his cousin, Rosemary A. Moore of
Harrisville, Rhode Island; his nieces and nephew: Sonya Martin and her family of East
Providence, Rhode Island; Debra J. Antonuccio of Northbridge, Massachusetts; and Michael C. Anderberg of Hopkinton, Massachusetts; and his friend and caregiver, Denise M. Lema and her family of East
Providence, Rhode Island.
He also leaves behind several additional cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Walter H. Anderberg, Jr., of Milford, Massachusetts, and his siter, Flora Olson, of Tampa, Florida.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at Advinia Care Providence and Continuum Hospice Care for their dedication, kindness, and comfort, and for being by Carl's side to ensure he remained comfortable and was always treated with dignity as his health declined.
Carl will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the warmth he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in the loving arms of the Lord and enjoy the peace of eternal life.
