William Martin Mozingo Jr.

April 24, 1977 – February 15, 2026

William Martin Mozingo Jr., lovingly known as Martin, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2026, at the age of 48.

The beloved son of Deborah Mozingo and the late William Mozingo Sr. ("Marty"), Martin grew up in Jarratt, VA, where he made many of the childhood memories he would later share so often - camping trips, gardening with his grandparents, family vacations to the Outer Banks, special days at the hunting club, and time spent outdoors with those he loved. Growing up, he and his brother learned how to build and repair alongside their father, lessons that shaped the hardworking, capable man he became. From his mother and grandparents, he inherited a love for cooking and proudly carried on family recipes, finding joy in preparing meals that brought everyone together.

He is also survived by his brother, Brian; his sister-in-law, Linda; his brother-in-law, Rick; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rick and Susan; his aunts, Pam (Jerry), Tammy, and Sharon; and many cousins, along with numerous extended family members who loved him dearly.

Martin met the love of his life, Tori, at work in Myrtle Beach, SC. Their marriage was built on faith, family, friendship, laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion. Family was the foundation of their life together. He cherished camping trips, mountain cabin getaways, river days, boat rides, and quiet moments spent side by side. With his own hands and the skills his father taught him, Martin built a cabin in West Jefferson, NC, where his family could enjoy the beauty of the mountains and peaceful days along the river - a place that became a refuge filled with memories. To Tori, he was not only a husband, but her best friend and greatest protector.

He was a proud and loving father to Samantha (Josh), Courtney (David), Easton, and Blake. Martin had many fond memories camping with his daughters and was so proud of the strong, beautiful young women they grew into. He cherished fishing trips with his sons, patiently teaching them the skills and values he hoped would help shape their futures. His eyes lit up most when surrounded by his family. He was also the adoring "Pappy" to his granddaughters, Piper and Rylee, who brought him endless joy.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Martin spent many years in maintenance and construction, where his skill, strength, and unmatched ability to fix anything earned him the respect of everyone who knew him. If something was broken, Martin could repair it. If someone needed help, he showed up. He never knew how to say no and was always willing to lend a hand.

He loved cooking for those he cared about - a true master on the grill - and took pride in preparing the family recipes passed down through generations. He enjoyed boat rides with friends and family, beach days and enjoying peaceful river days, while listening to country music. He was a loyal fan of the Carolina Panthers and enjoyed watching the games on Sundays with his wife by his side.

Above all, Martin was a provider, a protector, and a man with a generous heart. He lived with quiet strength and loved deeply and fiercely. His presence made others feel safe. His kindness filled rooms. His absence leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved him.

Martin will be honored, remembered, and deeply loved by many.

May he now rest where the mountains rise high, the rivers run peaceful, and the sun sets gently over the life he so beautifully lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Carolina Forest Community Church on Saturday February 28th at 1:00 p.m.
