William Lewis Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of William Harold Lewis,
age 68, on June 10th, 2025 at the Dorn VA Medical Center.
Harold was born on August 31, 1956 in Coway, South Carolina to Mary Doretha Lewis
(Gasque) and William Henry Lewis Jr. He grew up in Conway, SC and graduated from
Conway High School. He then went on to join the Navy, then the Army, then the Army
Reserves. Harold served 21 years in the military and was honorably discharged in 2006.
He also worked at Laurie's IGA, Mello Buttercup, and with Horry County Government.
He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Known for his many stories
and wit, he always knew how to put a smile on someone's face, even a stranger. He
was a devoted family man, Army Veteran, and Man of God.
He was fiercely proud of his children, William Henry Lewis IV and Mary Kate Lewis, and
adored his grandchildren, Magnolia and Meadow.
He is predeceased by his Mother; Mary Doretha Lewis (Gasque) and Father; William
Henry Lewis Jr. And two brothers, James Ronald Lewis and Joseph Oliver Lewis.
Harold is survived by one sister; Saundra Kate Lewis, one brother; Arnold Wayne Lewis
(Teresa). His son; William Henry Lewis IV (Lauren), his daughter; Mary Kate Lewis. Two
grandchildren; Magnolia and Meadow. One niece; Brittany Lewis and one nephew;
Noah Blair (Summer). One great-niece; Briona Eposito (Zack). As well as many loving
cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A visitation service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 15th, 2025 at Bakers Chapel
Missionary Baptist Church and the funeral service will follow at 3:00pm. Interment Bakers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
