Virgie Mair Obituary

Virgie Lucille Shouns Mair April 28, 1935- August 28, 2025 90 years old Mrs. Virgie was the daughter of the late Isaac and Arleva Shouns. She was the youngest daughter of 14 siblings. She was married to Mr. Hermann Mair for over 48 years. During their time together they lived in Spartanburg, SC and Salisbury, NC before settling in Myrtle Beach SC. Mrs. Virgie enjoyed being around people ( she loved working as a waitress) and traveling to various places. Her favorite past time was shopping for her grandchildren. She is most proud of her Military Career. Mrs. Virgie was in the United States Air Force in the field of Communications. In 1957 she went to school to work on computers for the military. Mrs. Virgie enjoyed walking on the beach with Hermann and their dog Heidi. She is survived by Mr. Hermann Mair of the home. Stepsons Roland (Concetta) Mair and Detlef Mair of Germany. A daughter Tara Spencer of Myrtle Beach. Four grandchildren Jennifer Mair and Jessica Mair of Germany, April (Spencer) Woody and Summer Ellis of Spartanburg. Four Great Grandchildren: Ethan Woody, Alexis Woody, Allyssa Woody, and Adrianna Spencer. The family would like to thank Jack and Jenny Cribb, special neighbors; Pam Driver, a hospice volunteer; and Gentiva Hospice for the care provided .
