In Loving Memory of a remarkable pillar of the community, and incredible all around human being, Tommy Francis Simmons a.k.a. -"Doc Tommy";
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tommy, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, who embarked a peaceful journey to glory with the Lord on September 2, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born on November 5, 1947 in Charleston, S.C., Tommy lived a vivacious life marked by dedication, kindness, charity, and an unwavering love for his family, as well as friends and all who were blessed to have known him.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa Simmons, whose beauty, and companionship enriched his life beyond measure.
Together, they built a 57 year marriage filled with warmth, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
A proud father to Suzanne Pickrel, Brandi Aragão, and Angela Harrison, Tommy Simmons found his greatest joy in nurturing, guiding, and celebrating the accomplishments of his three children.
He was also profoundly grateful to have been the father in-law to his son-in-law, and cherished friend of over 35 years, Mike Pickrel.
His boundless support, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain a beacon in all of their lives.
Professionally, Tommy excelled as an outstandingly dedicated pharmacist, earning respect and admiration for his integrity and kindness.
His passion for golfing, motorcycling, boating, skiing, and any other activity that encompassed gathering family and friends reflected his zest for life, and the depth of his incredible character.
Tommy was preceded in death by, parents, Fay Clyde, and Mary Frances (Givens) Simmons.
-younger brother, Fay Clyde Simmons III/"Curly".
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, their three children, Suzanne, Brandi, and Angela, as well as his older sister, Brenda Faye Barrs (James), 6 Grandchildren:Blakeland Harrison (Anna)

Braylin Pickrel, Sherrill (Henry), 4 Great-grandchildren: Hampton Harrison, Hayden Harrison, Isabelle Waldron,Serena Waldron, Brother in law, Doug Capps (barb), Special Niece, Charlene McCarter
(James), many other nephews and nieces as well -and his beloved dog, Sparky.
A Catholic funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Tommy's life on September 6, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Murrells Inlet SC, beginning at 10am. Preceded by a visitation to be held at Goldfinch funeral home, Murrells Inlet, SC. on September 6, at 9am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to @LBDA.org / Lewy body dementia association honoring his brave battle and determined spirit.
His legacy of love, compassion, strength, and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Tommy will be eternally cherished, and deeply missed.
