Tilman Tindal Obituary
Tilman Benjamen Tindal, Jr. (Benny), age 83, passed away on 10/24/25. Benny was the beloved son of Tilman and Jessie Bone Tindal of Conway, SC.
Benny graduated from Conway High in 1971 where he played football and enjoyed drag racing at the Conway Speedway. His brother Johnny and sister Martha Anne fondly remembers pushing many old cars before the races. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Helen Tarte Tindal Rapp and to serve two years in the navy and was a Vietnam Vet. He was the owner and operator of Tindal's Lucky Dollar store in Conway and he also sold life insurance for 40 years. In Benny's retirement, he enjoyed growing blueberries and grapes, baking cakes, barbecuing ribs, fishing and hunting. His closest friendships were with neighbors Buster & Maxine McDonnel, Keith and Rosemary Joyner, and our cousin Betty Miller Benton. They were all a great support to Benny in his final years.
Benny is survived by his brother Johnny F. Tindal (Kathie), sister Martha Anne Tindal Studebaker Fleming (Pat), and step-sister Angela Allen Keuth (Jim). He was an awesome and loving uncle to William (Billy) Studebaker and David Studebaker (Lindsay and nieces Blakely and Finley). Also, Johnny's children, Katie Watts (Kevin), Johnny Ann Tindal Paris (Jason), and Jaimee Tindal.
The name Benjamen in Hebrew means "son of my right hand", and that's who Benny was to his sister Martha Anne (Marty). They would read Scripture together and discuss Christ in their lives. Benny has now met his King and Savior in person. Selah.
