Thomas Bellamy Obituary
Thomas Vernon Bellamy Jr., 82, took his Heavenly flight on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born September 19, 1943 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Thomas Vernon and the late Isabell Mew Bellamy.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Judy E. Bellamy; sister, Frances Bellamy; brother, Nelson Bellamy and a granddaughter, Erica Bellamy.
Mr. Bellamy was a man of faith, character and "Matter of Fact". He was a true servant of God and served in many capacities. Thomas was a member of the Conway Church of God and was an Elder and Council Chairman for four years. During his years with the Pentecostal Churches, he was very active as a Deacon, Delegate to the General Assembly, Sunday School Teacher, Men's Fellowship Leader and helped with construction of several churches. Thomas had a God given gift of leading and also following when necessary. He enjoyed life, family and friends where he would spend time with them camping, cooking, fishing and hunting. His greatest joy came when he was teaching his grands how to fish, hunt, plant a garden and harvesting the fruits of their labor with their hands, Thomas was known as a "true friend" to many in his church, work and day to day activities. He was a man of his word. He was a faithful employee of HTC for 23 years before retirement.
Mr. Bellamy is survived by his wife of 12 years, Dianne T. Bellamy; three sons, Thomas Darin Bellamy (Sonja), Rev. Robbie Baxley (Caroline) and Bryan Baxley (Kelley); grandchildren, Walker Bellamy, Katelyn Baxley, Brynley Baxley and Kynsley Baxley; great-grandchildren, Thomas James Bellamy, Christopher Gauge Bellamy; brother, Larry Bellamy; sisters, Anna Suber, Irene Bellamy, Cornelia Teeters (Don), Louise Cribb, Elouise Sawyer (Levon), Joyce Brock (Roger) and Hilda McCormick, along with many other family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral Services will be held 2PM Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Conway Church of God, with Rev. Brett Davis, Rev. Keith Woods and Rev. Robbie Baxley officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm – 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens.
