Sharon Muir Obituary
Sharon Kay Muir, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, after an eight-year battle with colon cancer. She passed at her residence with her family by her side. She was born October 27, 1956, in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late Leo Joseph Weidert and Marjorie Branton Weidert.
Sharon was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a fun sister, an incredibly proud grandmother, and faithful friend to everyone she met. Her love for her family and friends was boundless.
Mrs. Muir is survived by her husband of fifty years, Michael Muir Sr; her daughter, Jessie Quintero and her husband Miguel Quintero of Rockville, Maryland; her daughter Maggie Altman and her husband Dennis Altman of South Mills, North Carolina; and her son, Michael Muir Jr and his wife Lindsay Muir of Greer, SC; sisters Patricia Farish and Kathy Brown; and nine grandchildren, Samuel Quintero (12), Ellis Quintero (10), Grady Altman (17), Maisey Altman (15), Rosie Altman (13), Benny Altman (11); Charlie Muir (15), Rowan Muir (13), and Hayes Muir (10). She was a cherished member of the community, with so many people who loved her and will miss her dearly.
Sharon had a lengthy career in accounting, first working at Grove Manufacturing, then the City of Myrtle Beach, eventually retiring from Horry Telephone Cooperative in 2020. She was a veteran of the Army, serving from 1974-1976. Mrs. Muir was actively involved with her church, Homewood Baptist. She was also passionate about her work with the Good News Club, which evangelizes boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Homewood Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Family will receive guests starting at 1pm and the service will begin at 2pm. The service will also be livestreamed on Homewood Baptist Church's Facebook account.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Good News Club.
