Saundra Rice Obituary

Saundra Yoh Rice, age 75, of Myrtle Beach, passed away October 23, 2025 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC. She was born June 8, 1950 in Conway, South Carolina to the late Howard & Betty Ross Yoh. Saundra was a dedicated nurse for over 50 years, where the majority of those were spent serving the community with the Horry County School Systems as a school nurse, for most of the time at St. James Elementary School. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and crocheted many afghans and stuffed animals for people over the years. Saundra will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Rice Jr.; children, Heather Jacobs and husband Jody, and Joshua Rice and wife Justa; grandchildren, Peyton Rice, Makenna Jacobs, Morgan Jacobs, and Andrew Jacobs; sister, Shelly Hernandez; nephews, Darren Sanders and Dusty Sanders; niece, Angela Shadley; sister-in-law, Linda Givens and brother-in-law, Robert Vereen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or The Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Reception following the burial at Socastee Masonic Lodge, 7658 Butler Road, Socastee, SC 29712. Visitation with the family will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is serving the family.
