Roberta Lashare Obituary

Roberta Jane Reed Junge Lashare, 86, of Conway, South Carolina, went to be with Yeshua on July 13, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family: born on June 6, 1939 to the late Robert Engel Reed and Mildred Haase Reed of Nutley, New Jersey. Roberta committed her life to Christ at the age of nine and lived her life devoted to following Him for 77 years. Her unwavering faith and desire to share The Good News was paramount in all she did, and guided her life as a registered nurse, a missionary, a Director of Crisis Pregnancy Centers, a mother, and friend. In her walk with Jesus, and in all things, she demanded authenticity. As a Messianic Believer, and member of Melech Ha Olam Synagogue she and her husband were commissioned as Shammashim a chosen Elder. It was here that she most recently could be found happily dancing, singing, and serving. Music was a part of her life in and outside of the church. She was known to "have a song for any situation". These songs ranged from the traditional hymns from her youth, to silly Girl Scout Songs, to the Hebrew Hymns learned on her trips and studies in Israel and just about anything in between. Her family sang her to heaven with one of her favorites: Jesus Loves Me "a short song that says it all." Happily married to her first husband John Joseph Junge, Jr. for 24 years until his passing in 1986, Roberta remarried in 1988 to her current husband of 37 years, John Monroe Lashare. She is survived by her loving husband; two daughters Beverly Junge Cline (Van), and Valerie Junge Edwards (Darryl Hardwick), and four grandchildren: Anna Cline Knorr (Dan), Emily Williams Cline, Brandon Joseph Edwards (Haley Rowell), and Dawson James Edwards; a wonderful sister Dale Reed Kendall; sisters-in-law Janet Junge Merkel and Jeanette Lashare Speas (Eric); a special cousin, Nancy Claire Schatzle Kroeger; seven nieces, nephews and their spouses; her prayerful community, and an amazing neighborhood circle. A private burial service will be held for immediate Family on Tuesday, July 15th, at the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, South Carolina. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Melech Ha Olam Synagogue, Myrtle Beach will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to IDF Soldiers: Ha Miflaht, Israel (The Refuge) or Engaging Minds: Prevent and Rehabilitate Trafficked Children and Women, Horry County.
