Robert Michael Rowe, Sr. "Bubba"
Robert Michael Rowe, Sr. "Bubba" of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of the Town of Newburgh, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1946, in Saranac Lake, NY, a son of the late Marion and Calvin Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Rowe, Myrtle Beach, SC; children, Christina Klinger (Bryan) Pawleys Island, SC, Robert Rowe, Jr. (Laurel) Walden, NY, Shelly Neuman (John) Pawleys Island, SC; his much loved siblings, Dawn Nogay, Stuart FL, Reginald Rowe (Bonnie), Plattekill, NY, Holly Baker, Dillon, SC, Timothy Baker, Havertown, PA, and Marsha Palladino (Nick), Wallkill, NY; 5 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bubba proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the Military Police from 1966 to 1969. During which time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Badge Rifle M14. Following his military service, he joined the Town of Newburgh Police Department in Newburgh, NY, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant by the age of 24. After retiring, Bubba and his family relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he spent 30 years working security at the Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club.
He enjoyed collecting stamps, playing cards (especially Rummy – Deal 'em up, Bub!), dirt racing with his son, NASCAR, cool old cars, fishing, gardening, reading, Yankees Baseball and feeling the warm sun and fresh air on his face!
Throughout his life, Bubba enjoyed countless adventures with his beloved wife, Judy,
children, family, and friends. Though he never went on a Tawanda Trip, he sure had a special place in his heart for those Tawanda Sisters! His bright blue eyes and personality lit up whatever room he entered! Bubba was a true people person - he loved many and they loved him! He will be deeply missed, but his warm heart and radiant smile will be imprinted on our hearts forever.
A celebration of Bubba's life will be held 2:00pm Friday, April 11th at the Harvest Church, 3552 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. A gathering will follow at the home of Bryan and Christina Klinger, 131 Georgieville Street, Pawleys Island, SC 29585.
