Patsy Cook Obituary

In Loving Memory of Patsy Gene Cook March 3, 1933 – September 18, 2025 Patsy Gene Cook, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 3, 1933, in North Bend, Oregon, Patsy was the beloved daughter of the late Olaaf Eugene Starr and Ora Del Patrick. From an early age, she dreamed of being a mother, and throughout her life she was known for her deep love of children and family. Patsy proudly served her country for two years in the United States Army as part of the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War. After her service, she devoted her life to raising her family and faithfully serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held several callings and touched many lives with her kindness and dedication. Patsy was proudly married to her sweetheart, Jesse Cook, for 69 years. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and family. Jesse preceded her in death, and today they are joyfully reunited. She found joy in simple things like cooking, knitting, reading, and collecting dolls. Above all, she delighted in her role as a mother and grandmother, and she was truly the matriarch of her family. Patsy is survived by her eight children: Dessie Ray (Nicky), Jesse Leroy Cook, Michael Jon Cook (Sandra), Terry Cook (Janice), Toni K. Smith, David O. Cook (Krystal), Alan B. Cook, and Gail Cox (CJ). She also leaves behind 32 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Irene Johnson (William). She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse and Son Darrel Dean, her parents, and other loved ones who welcomed her home. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Happy Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallivants Ferry, South Carolina. Patsy's legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire her family for generations to come. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Cook's memory to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
