Patricia Margaret Brewer, 87, affectionately known as "Mimi", passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, October 25, 2025. She was born on April 14, 1938, in Lancaster, South Carolina, daughter of the late, Howard and Dorothy Penegar.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Bradford Brewer.
She is survived by her daughter, Audreya Brewer of Murrells Inlet, and her son, Brad Brewer of Garden City Beach; three grandchildren, Holly Fisher (Jess) of Murrells Inlet, Chase Adams (Amy) of Murrells Inlet, and Jaden Alford (Chandler) of Italy; a brother, Howard Penegar of Lancaster; and sister, Sue Williams of Lancaster; as well as four great-grandchildren, Foster Johnston of Charleston, Salem Johnston of Murrells Inlet, and Brewer and Palmer Adams of Murrells Inlet.
She was affectionately named "Mimi" by her grandchildren - a name that soon became how she was lovingly known by everyone who met her. Mimi had a kind and tender heart and a deep love for her family. She loved living on the Inlet and enjoyed spending time on her dock with family and friends.
She and her late husband, Jimmie Bradford Brewer, were partners of Sara J's Seafood Restaurant in Garden City Beach and owners of Brewer Sand Company in Pageland, South Carolina. They also dedicated the Brewer Building at Charleston Southern University and provided scholarships to support students in continuing their education. Mimi was a member of Coastal Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Murrells Inlet).
She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones - whether she was out collecting shells, working in her yard, admiring her flowers, fishing, or cooking up something special, she did it all with joy and love. She enjoyed traveling, but her most treasured times were the family vacations, where she made lasting memories with those she loved most. Throughout every trip, she would smile and remind everyone with her favorite words, "Good times, good times."
A devoted mother, wife, and faithful worker in her church, she lived her faith daily through her kindness and generosity. Always the picture of grace, Mimi was a true Southern lady through and through - her hair, nails, and outfits were always just right, and she never failed to brighten every room she entered. Her joyful spirit and loving heart will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
