Pamela Moyers Obituary

Pamela Lord Moyers, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 71 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born on August 10, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, Pam was the cherished daughter of Avery James Lord, Jr. and Shirley D. Lord. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, who instilled in her the values of kindness, perseverance, and a love for learning that she carried throughout her life. Pam's journey began in Summerville, South Carolina, where she graduated from Summerville High School in 1972. Her passion for health sciences led her to Trident Technical College and the Medical University of South Carolina, where she first pursued a career as a dental assistant. Her commitment to excellence and education eventually saw her complete her Bachelor of Health Sciences in May 2009 from the Medical University of South Carolina. For 17 years, Pam dedicated her professional life to shaping the futures of countless students as an educator at Horry Georgetown Technical College. She created the dental assistant curriculum, blending her knowledge and experience in the dental field with her love for teaching. Pam was known for her warmth, patience, and the genuine care she had for her students, many of whom would go on to impact their communities, inspired by her dedication. On October 3, 1987, Pam married the love of her life, Michael Moyers. Their union was a testament to love, partnership, and shared dreams. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, travel, and cherished memories. Pam particularly enjoyed spending time with friends and embraced every opportunity to explore new places, creating memories that her loved ones will forever treasure. Pam was a devoted sister and leaves behind her brother, Michael James Lord, and her sister, Linda Lord Morton, along with her brother-in-law Alan. She was a beloved aunt to her niece, nephews, and great-nephews, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she always made time to support and celebrate them in their endeavors. In her passing, Pam leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched. Her legacy of compassion, dedication to education, and love for family and friends will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Visitation be held on November 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM followed by a memorial service 3;00 PM at Socastee United Methodist Church, 5575 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC. All who knew and loved her are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable life and the impact she made on those around her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pam's memory to St. Jude's Hospital, the American Heart Association, or Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation, organizations that were close to her heart. Pamela Lord Moyers was a shining light in this world, and though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever inspire those she loved and touched. Rest in peace, dear Pam.
