Nicole Kennedy Obituary

February 9, 1935 – July 9, 2025 Nicole Farley Kennedy passed away peacefully in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family, just months after celebrating her 90th birthday. Born in Paris, France on February 9, 1935, Nicole was the eldest of five children of Dr. Victor and Lucienne Farley. She was raised in Montreal, Canada, where her love of language, culture, and education began to flourish. Nicole later attended Trinity College in Burlington, Vermont, where she met the love of her life, John Desmond Kennedy. The two were married and shared a remarkable life together for over six decades until John's passing on December 20, 2018. Together they raised three children-Louise Kaskel, Mark Kennedy (Diane), and Anne Garrett (Pat)-instilling in them the values of faith, education, and family. Nicole and John settled in the Boston area, where they raised their family and created a home filled with warmth, hospitality, and spirited conversation. Nicole served as a beloved French teacher in the Lexington, Massachusetts school system for over twenty years. Her passion for teaching and her heritage inspired annual school trips to Quebec City, which became a highlight for many of her students and a tradition fondly remembered. A woman of deep faith, Nicole nurtured the spiritual and emotional well-being of her family with love, consistency, and joy. She had a natural flair for entertaining, always welcoming family and friends with good food, fine wine, and her signature energy that could light up any room. Her vivacious spirit, sharp mind, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones defined her every day. In her later years, Nicole battled illness with grace and courage. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Garrett family for their extraordinary care and compassion, opening their Surfside Beach home to ensure Nicole's final months were filled with comfort and dignity. Nicole is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her wisdom, affection, and example. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched-as a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 11, 2025 at Saint Andrews Catholic Church. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is serving the family.
