Nancy Sorokach Obituary

Nancy Lynn Sorokach, 71, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Old Bridge/Scotch Plains, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025. She was born September 11, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, a daughter of the late William and Elsie Ivanitz. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; a daughter, Kristin Gendreau and her husband, Matt; grandchildren, Connor and Valerie; brother, Tom Ivanitz; and sister, Janice Preckwinkle. Nancy loved gardening and going to the beach. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for entertaining and was the lead singer for the local New Jersey band "Spiritz" for over fifty years. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at St. Bartholomew Church in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Interment will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy's name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
