Michael was born on September 10, 1954, in Bayonne, New Jersey, to the late Richard L. Smith and Anna Marie (Fisher) Smith.
Left to cherish Michael's memory is his beloved wife Catherine Rose (Fitzgerald) Smith, and their two children son Michael T. Smith II, and daughter Brianne F. Smith.
Michael and Cathy were exactly one week shy of celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary together. Michael was a lover of the outdoors; they camped out with nothing but sleeping bags to enjoying time in their RV and everything in between. He also enjoyed spending time on the water whether it be boating or fishing. Michael was also a die-hard New York Yankees fan. Michael and Cathy have been snow birding here in Myrtle Beach since 2013.
