Mr. McCormack is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Muriel mcCormack; and brother Kevin R. McCormack, all of Ridgewood, New York. Mas was a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Navy. He completed two tours in South East Asia with Attack Squadron Thirty-five. The bonds of camaraderie birthed in Vietnam sustained to this day. He was awarded the Lifetime Membership in American Legion for his contributions to fostering Americanism while active in the Legion. Mac was a Senate aide to New York State Senator, Martin J. Knorr, State Senate District 15, Queens, New York. Leaving the post when the Senator retired.
