Michael Austin Obituary

Michael "Mike" Austin went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2026. Michael was born on May 7, 1964, In Honolulu, Hawaii.

His family eventually settled in Grovetown, Georgia, where Michael grew up. He was a 1982 graduate of Harlem High School, where he excelled in baseball and football. He was on the 1981 and 1982 State Baseball Championship teams. He was a starting outfielder on both teams and went 15-0 as a pitcher in his senior season. He received a full athletic scholarship to Augusta College and graduated in 1986. He was a four-year starter as an outfielder and hit .396 his senior year.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Herman Austin and Mother, Jennie Marie Austin.

Mike is survived by his sister Carol Carter (Terry), Sherry Bellavance (Danny), and Debra Osborne (Harris); Along with many nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Peggy Crux; Also, his dog, Taurus.

The family would like to thank Peggy for her loving care of Michael during his last days.

Michael enjoyed all sports, but golf was his favorite. He worked at Tupelo Bay Golf Center for over 10 years and considered the employees as well as the gofers his family.

A memorial service will be held in Myrtle beach, South Carolina, on Thursday April 2, 2026, at 12pm at Tupelo Bay Golf Center.
