Maxine Lytle Obituary

Maxine Denaro Lytle, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday September 22, 2025, while at Myrtle Beach Manor. She was born on January 21, 1932, in Pinopolis, SC to the late Louis F. Denaro, Jr. & Inez Dennis Denaro Evans. Along with her parents, Maxine is reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Thomas E. Lytle, Jr.; their sons, Brig. Gen. Robert K. Lytle, & Idaho Army National Guard, Col. Thomas E. Lytle, III, USAF; as well as her brother, Louis F. Denaro, III; and sister, Edna D. Taylor. Maxine was a hardworking and skilled nurse with a heart of gold. She proudly attended Rex Nursing School in Raleigh, NC and went on to Pinehurst, NC where she was a skilled surgical nurse for several years. While working, Maxine raised her four children by herself as her husband was on the road being a great salesman for Shell Ag Chem. When Maxine wasn't committing her life to raising her children and helping those in need, she could be found pouring her soul into her art. Maxine was very artistically inclined and excelled at any media she encountered. Her love for stenciling, painting, sewing and her eye for detail was generously passed on to her adoring grandchildren. Maxine's faith in Christ our Lord was steadfast. She appreciated a quiet moment to read the Bible and collected many versions of the Bible for her study of His Word. She surrounded herself with the love of Christ our Lord and Savior. She was a founding member and supporter of The Abbey at Pawleys Island, SC. She was a past President of The Order of the Daughters of the King. She was also a founding member and supporter of the Berkeley County Museum and contributed several historical artifacts for display. Above all else, Maxine loved her family with her whole heart. Maxine will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her quick wit, her bright smile and the love in her heart for those special to her. After raising her children, she travelled the world with her loving husband, Thomas, on MANY business trips abroad. Left to cherish Maxine's memory are her adoring sons, Ret. Capt. R. Albert Lytle, American Airlines & J. Harry Lytle, Veteran and Ret. from Santee Cooper; grandchildren, Katherine Collins, Jennifer Krenzer, Sarah Lytle Krenzer, Emily Lytle Crosby, Joseph Thomas Lytle, Melissa Jane Lytle, Andrew Lytle, and Caroline Lytley Ehlies; and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors. The family will gather to greet friends from 5PM until 7PM on Monday September 29, 2025 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at 12PM at All Saints Church Waccamaw Cemetery, 3560 Kings River Rd. Pawleys Island, South Carolina 29585.
