Maureen Reynolds Obituary

Maureen Reyome Reynolds It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Reyome Reynolds on August 10, 2025, her and her beloved husband's 62nd wedding anniversary. Maureen was born on August 23, 1944, to the late Clair and Emma (Johnson) Reyome of Chasm Falls, NY. She was baptized at St. Helen's Church in Chasm Falls and confirmed there on October 23, 1955. She began her education in the one-room District 10 schoolhouse, attending grades 1–6, before continuing her studies in Malone. Maureen graduated from Franklin Academy in 1962 with a New York State Regents diploma and was awarded a State Merit Scholarship. On August 10, 1963, Maureen married the love of her life, Vernon Eric Reynolds of Burke, NY, at St. Helen's Church. Maureen and Vern were blessed with three cherished daughters, who were the joy of their lives. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother for her first ten years of motherhood, then began a career as a bank teller at the Howard Bank in Richmond, VT. She later joined IBM, where she worked for 19 years. A highlight of her career was serving as IBM Club President, organizing numerous social and cultural events for employees and their families. After leaving IBM, she continued her professional journey with four years at Sematech in Austin, TX, before retiring. Maureen's life was rich with service, friendships, adventure, and laughter. She volunteered for many years as a Girl Scout troop leader in Richmond, VT, and as a Youth Outreach mentor in Round Rock, TX. She enjoyed playing cards or Bunco with her lady friends, reading, playing games on the computer and television, and traveling the world with Vern. Special destinations included Hawaii, Spain, France, England, and several memorable trips to Scotland. A woman of deep faith, Maureen was an active parishioner throughout her life. Her husband, Vern, their three daughters, and many dear friends were her greatest blessings from God. Her grandchildren were a constant source of joy whether she was attending a concert, sports game, art show, birthday party, or any event involving them, she was always present with love and pride. Maureen is survived by her compassionate husband of 62 years, Vernon Eric Reynolds of Murrells Inlet, SC; her three daughters, Cynthia Reynolds (Jack Lyon), Nancy Ravaschiere (John), and Tricia Reynolds (Bob DeFeo); six grandchildren, Hunter, Benjamin, Isabella, Marina, Nicholas, and James; and one great-granddaughter, Lindsey. She is survived by one sister, Elaine (Reyome) McDermott and was preceded in death by her five brothers, Carlton, Ronnie, Marvin, Richard, and Robert. A Catholic burial will be held at St. Helen's Church in Chasm Falls, NY, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., with a small reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, please help someone by donating your time or money to a charitable organization of your choice, babysit for tired parents, attend a child's event, give a smile or hug to someone who needs one, and say a prayer for the repose of Maureen's soul.
