Margaret Worsham Obituary

Margaret Worsham, at the blessed age of 101, died peacefully Saturday morning, July 26, 2025 at White Oak Manor Kings Mountain. She was born May 4, 1924, in Salem, Virginia to Ethel and Hurbert Weaver, and was raised by her stepfather Harry Deaner and mother Ethel Deaner when her mother remarried. She lived most of her adult life in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband of 56 years Elmo Worsham who died 29 years ago. Upon Elmo's retirement they relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she remained until Alzheimer's disease necessitated she move closer to family and to a Memory Care unit. Margaret is survived by her son Robert Worsham, and wife Belinda of Maiden, NC, her half-sister Dr. Aline Kent, and half brother Eldridge Weaver. Margaret was a very active member of Carolina Country Club in Charlotte, attended St. Marks Lutheran Church in Charlotte and Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Murrells Inlet, SC. She volunteered at Charlotte area hospitals and was a Red Cross volunteer in Charlotte and Myrtle Beach. She loved her pet dogs and enjoyed gardening and crafts. A small indoor graveside service will be held in the Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025. The family will be available to meet with friends at 12:30 PM.
