Larry Humason Obituary

Larry Humason, 83, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born on January 12, 1942, in Otis, Massachusetts, Larry lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his work. Larry proudly served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. His commitment to service extended beyond the military into his professional life. A skilled and hardworking entrepreneur, Larry owned and operated his own oil and HVAC business for many years. His work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of customers and colleagues alike. Faith played a central role in Larry's life. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Surfside Church in South Carolina, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment. His involvement in church life reflected his deep-rooted values and desire to serve others. Larry had a passion for his dogs, NASCAR, and enjoyed woodworking-a hobby that allowed him to express creativity and craftsmanship. Whether cheering on his favorite drivers or working with his hands in the shop, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Above all else, Larry was a caring husband and father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra; his son, Larry Humason, and daughter-in-law, Betsy; and his daughter, Doreen Harvey, and son-in-law, Tim. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Ashley Humason and Kimberly Lagerquist, and 1 great-grandson, Rune Lagerquist. His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Lynn Wood; brother Charles Humason Jr.; sister Elaine Gardner; father Charles Humason Sr.; and mother Lenora Humason. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for all of his family, friends, and loved ones. Donations in Larry's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association via the Lewis Funeral Home, 4947 Hwy 17s Bypass, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. May Larry's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
