Kerry Williams Obituary
Kerry was born on August 19th,1938, and passed from this earth on October 16th, 2025, after many years of fighting the horrible disease of dementia. Kerry has now begun his next journey to reunite in heaven with the love of his life, Marie. He was the eldest son of the late Royal Apollo Williams and Lois Yvonne Williams.
Kerry was born into this world in the summer month of August - on Friday the 19th, in the year 1938. The time of year for his birth fit him perfectly, as he loved hot weather and hated the cold. He was born and raised in New York City, NY. Manhattan is where he met, fell in love with, and married his wife, Marie Ann.
Kerry lived a full, loving, fun, and exciting life. He wore many hats throughout his years - from military service (Army and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary), to being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He met many interesting people during his time working in the film industry, including actors, directors, and musicians. He enjoyed traveling, the beach, boating, dining out (well his wife did!), and - oh yeah, you can't forget golfing.
He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: his son Keir, daughter-in-law Karen, his pride and joy granddaughter Kayla, his sibling's - sister April, and brother Roger - and his nephews and niece.
My Father was kind, compassionate, generous, funny, and, most of all, a man whose heart was filled with so much love for his family and friends. Kerry will be deeply missed but will remain in our hearts forever. Now, Dad, take that journey up the "Stairway to Heaven" and get to "Knockin' On Heaven's Door." Your wife, Marie, will be waiting with open arms to welcome you in.
A few words from his loving granddaughter Kayla:
Poppy was the calmest, kindest, and most loving grandpa a girl could ever ask for. He had such a gentle soul and a way of making everyone around him feel loved. We shared so many adventures and travels together, and those memories will stay with me forever. I'll always be grateful for every laugh, every hug, and every moment we shared. He will always be here with me in my heart.
One last thing I wanted to share: I found this song a few years back, while my dad was starting to decline from dementia.
I would play the song on the hard days, seeing him struggle. I don't hear a sad song - instead, I hear a powerful song about truth, love, and compassion for a loved one. I played the song for my father many times during his decline, and he also heard it again a few days before he passed. Here are the lyrics.
Monsters by James Blunt
Oh, before they turn off all the lights
I won't read you your wrongs or your rights
The time has gone
I'll tell you goodnight, close the door
Tell you I love you once more
The time has gone
So here it is
(Chorus)
I'm not your son, you're not my father
We're just two grown men saying goodbye
No need to forgive, no need to forget
I know your mistakes, and you know mine
And while you're sleeping, I'll try to make you proud
So, daddy, won't you just close your eyes?
Don't be afraid, it's my turn
To chase the monsters away
Oh, well, I'll read a story to you
Only difference is this one is true
The time has gone
I folded your clothes on the chair
I hope you sleep well, don't be scared
The time has gone
So here it is
(Chorus)
Sleep a lifetime
Yes, and breathe a last word
You can feel my hand on your own
I will be the last one
So, I'll leave a light on
Let there be no darkness, in your heart
(Chorus)
Kerry, a Kool Kat and a life well lived!!
